Editorial policy
Last revised 6 August 2026 · Maintained by Rodrigo Krohling
This page describes how the site actually works, including the parts that are unflattering. If something here stops being true, this page changes.
Who writes this
One person: Rodrigo Krohling. There is no editorial team, no panel of analysts and no testing lab. Where a page carries a reviewer's name and a date, that person read it. Where a page carries no name, nobody has — and it says so at the top.
What is on the site, and what it is worth
Entries fall into three kinds, and the site tells you which you are reading:
- Editorial entries. Written for this site. These carry a description in our own words and are the only tool pages submitted for indexing.
- Research drafts. Products discovered through a ProductHunt feed and described with the help of a language model working from web search. Every one of these carries a visible warning that no person has checked it, and none are indexed.
- Generated views. Comparison, alternatives and filtered pages assembled from the records above. They restate recorded data side by side and nothing more. They are useful for orientation; they are not analysis, they say so, and they are not indexed.
How AI is used
A language model with web search is used to draft descriptions of newly discovered products. That is a research shortcut, not an author. Model output is stored as a draft, published with a warning, and excluded from search indexing. It becomes ordinary site content only when a person has read it against its sources and signed it.
The model is explicitly instructed not to produce an overall score. Earlier versions of this pipeline asked it for a 1–5 rating reflecting "aggregated sentiment", and it obliged — with numbers no platform had published, including a 5.0. Those numbers are still visible on the affected pages, now labelled as unverified, because deleting them quietly would hide a mistake rather than correct it. They are listed as outstanding corrections below.
What has to be true before a page is indexed
A page is submitted to search engines only when it is either an editorial tool entry or a comparison or guide with a written analysis signed by a named person and dated. Everything else carries noindex, follow: reachable, linked, honest about what it is, and not competing for search traffic it has not earned.
This is a deliberate constraint on growth. The site can only add indexable pages as fast as one person can write them.
Figures, sources and dates
Every number should carry the source it came from and the date it was read. Numbers that don't are shown with an "unverified" mark rather than removed, so you can see both the figure and how much weight it deserves. The methodology page explains each label and what is still outstanding.
Content is not copied or paraphrased from review platforms or vendor marketing pages. Where a third-party rating is cited, it is cited as theirs, with a link, and it is never restated as our own assessment.
Corrections
Send corrections to [email protected] or through the contact form. Please include the page and, where you can, a link to the source that contradicts it — that makes it verifiable rather than a judgement call.
Corrections to a figure are made by updating the value together with its source and check date. Substantive corrections to written analysis are noted on the page. No estimate of response time is given here, because a single operator cannot commit to one honestly.
Conflicts of interest
There are no affiliate agreements, no sponsored placements and no paid entries. No vendor has paid for inclusion, position or wording. Nothing on the site is ordered by a commercial relationship, because none exists. If that ever changes, it will be disclosed on the disclosure page and reflected in ordering and labelling before any money changes hands.
Known gaps
Stated plainly, because a policy that only lists strengths is marketing:
- No product on this site has been hands-on tested.
- Most pricing, rating and review figures currently carry no source or check date, and are marked unverified throughout.
- Ratings on research drafts were produced by a language model and should not be treated as market data.
- Coverage is limited to the categories listed in the navigation.
